Varsity Letter

To qualify for a varsity letter a team member must have a positive attitude, commitment, and most importantly dedication to the team! 300 point are needed to be awarded a varsity letter. The points start over each school year that way points can’t be accumulated. Although once a students acquires a letter they have the opportunity to get pins as the years go by.

A few ways to ear these points is by:

  • Practices:
    • In season practice: 2 points per hour with a minimum of 50 hours required.
    • Out of season practice (Summer hours): 2 points per hour with a minimum of 30 hours required
  • Competition:
    • 30 points per competition and must be actively participating.
  • Team Activities and Leadership: Captains will keep track of points in their area and submit them to the head captain, who will turn them into Mr. Barron.
    • Head Captain
      • Being a team or sub-team captain (20 points)
      • Outreach (20 points)
      • Community Service (20 Points)
    • Marketing and Fundraising
      • Finding a sponsor:
        • $25 to $99 earns- 5 points
        • $100 to $499 earns- 15 points
        • $500 to $999 earns- 25 points
        • $1,000 to $4,999 earns- 35 points
        • $5,000 to $9,999 earns- 45 points
        • $9,999 and up earns- 55 points
    • Scouting 
      • Lead Scouting (20 points per competition)
      • Being a scout (10 points per competition)
    • Spirit
      • Being the head mascot (2 points per competition)
    • Design and Mechanical 
      • Captain (20 points)
      • Completing a CAD design (10 points)
    • Website and Graphics 
      • Captain (20 points)
      • Winning design idea for the team shirt, logo, or website design (4 points)
    • Wiring, Electrical, Programming, and Integration
      • Captains (20 points)
      • Completing a major robot program that works (4 points)
    • Fabrication
      • Captain (20 points)
      • Captain of a build committee:
        • Shooter (10 points)
        • Programming (10 points)
        • Chassis (10 points)
        • Mechanical (10 points)
    • Pit Captain
      • Captain will get 20 points per competition
      • Being part of the pit crew (10 points per competition)
    • Drive Team
      • Captain (20 points per competition)
      • If the team places in the top four (additional 20 points per competition)
    • Chairmen’s Award Captain
      • Submitting for the award (10 points)
      • Winning the award (20 points)
